Primark Haul- Spring/Summer 2015

Hi everyone, so I just went to Primark to get some things for the Spring and Summer and I thought I would show them to you.

These are sunglasses that are a sort of turquoise-y colour which I think is perfect for the Spring/Summer. They were £1 which is a complete bargain!

These are the other pair of sunglasses I bought for £3 which are black and have a really pretty gold pattern on half of the arm (is that what it's called? You know what I mean..).

 

This belt is just a simple plain black, pretty boring I know but my last one broke and I feel like everyone needs a black belt. Besides it was so cheap at just £1.

The other belt I bought is also £1 but it's more like a plait.

 This was a bit of an impulse buy but I seriously love this top! It's got the apple monkey emojis on it and I was thinking of wearing it or a nightie or something but I might wear it around the house as well. I just love it and at £6 I just couldn't say no.

 This playsuit has a really nice navy blue tribal pattern. It's made of a really cool material that feels a lot like silk (although it's probably not) which will be great it the summer when it's nice and warm. It was £5.

 Another playsuit that is a more pale blue and has pockets. It has a really nice lace detail on the top which is why it's slightly more money at £7.

 These are plain black shorts which are unfortunately not denim because they didn't have my size in those but I really needed some black shorts so settled for these which are also really cute and at £5 i'll use these for now and look out for some denim ones in the mean time.

 This is another top with a chiffon-y feel with really cute white flowers on. There's also a bow under the collar but my mum took that off for me as I don't personally like it. This was £6.

This dress is black and white with a really cute mosaic-y pattern. It's made of a really cool material that is perfect for the summer. It's not fitted but it still hangs really nice. It would be perfect for everyday wear but I also think this would be really nice to wear to the beach or something. It was £8.

This was the most expensive thing I bought at £10 but it is also my favourite. It's a fitted dress with a lace top going into a white kind of ribbed material for the top then the skirt bit is a really nice navy blue shiny material. I think this is a really nice dress that can be dressed up or dressed down with the right accessories.

So that was all the things I got, I really like Primark and I do a Spring/Summer shop in April and then an Autumn/Winter shop in September so if you liked this I will probably do an Autumn/Winter one as well. See you guys next time :D

Dan & Phil Shop Advent Calender 2014

Hi everyone, this post is way overdue but oh well. So my advent calender for 2014 was the Dan and Phil advent calender and it was honestly amazing! 

Now I can't speak from experience as it is my first ever chocolate advent calender (at 16 I know..) but the chocolate was amazing! Obviously it wasn't like Cadbury or anything but I have heard some pretty horrible things about how advent chocolate tasted so I was a bit nervous to try it but I can believe now that Dan and Phil literally did spend a whole day tasting advent chocolate to choose the best one.

The calender was about £8-10 pounds including package and postage which seems like a lot but as I plan on keeping it for the hilarious pictures (I have included them below) it didn't seem like such a bad price.

Anyway, here are pictures I took of the advent calender (btw sorry that the pictures are of bad quality the doors are quite small and I took them on my i-phone so it couldn't focus properly):

Review: Northampton University

Hi everyone, so yesterday was the Northampton University Open Day 2015 and I thought for my future reference and for you guys who are thinking of going there in the future I would compile a list of the positives and the (very few) negatives that I have about the place.

So first I feel like I should tell you that I am hoping to start university in September 2016 and want to do the developmental and educational psychology degree.

Anyway, lets get on with the review :)

Positive

• Small campus: Ok so for me I much prefer the smaller campuses where everything is close together (literally from one side of the campus to the other is about a 15 minute walk. For me this is great because everything is easily accessible and it is difficult to get lost, I had spent 2 hours there after having a campus tour with my dad and a third year student and the course talk and then I was able to show my mum around with no problem at all and didn't get lost once. Obviously if you prefer the bigger campuses then Northampton University is not for you.

• Cheap accommodation: At Park campus there are twin rooms (but I didn't look at those) and also three types of single rooms at three different levels (all for a 42 week contract btw): Small Standard Single for £3,444 a year, Standard Single for £4,326 a year (this one is just larger) and a Single En-suite for £5,082 a year. 

Both standards are really nice, here are two pictures I took of the Single Standard.

If I had to choose between the three I would go for this one as it is very cheap and there is a bathroom with a toilet, a shower room and another toilet all shared between only 6 people with a rather large kitchen with two fridge-freezers and lots of cabinets.

The en-suite was also very nice with a very similar bedroom but you had a bathroom that consisted of a shower, a toilet and a sink. However it was very small and you had less storage in your bedroom and a smaller kitchen, still shared between 6, with only 1 fridge-freezer. Here are some pictures:

• Lots of clubs to join: There are so many sports or societies to join that I don't know if i'd be able to fit them all in! The students' union provided me with some brochures that you will get if you go to an open day but I'll tell the clubs I am interested in to give you an idea of the types of things they offer. Societies: Disney Society, Psychology Society, UNICEF on Campus Society. Sports: Cheerleading, Dance Club, Swimming, Trampolining. Those are my personal preferences but if you want to know more about the societies, clubs or about the stundent union visit their website here. Also, all the clubs are free to join, one of only two in the UK, and the gym membership is only £100 for the year which is very good value!
• Great course/professors: Ok so this is more of a personal one as, obviously, I only got to experience the talk for my course, developmental and educational psychology, but there was no welcome talk which I liked (they can be bloody boring!) but was kind of incorporated into the first 10 minutes or so of the course talk. The modules for my course is everything I am looking for and was very impressed with how they presented the talk. First they talked about the modules and what is in each one, then two students took us round to see the psychology facilities then we had a kind of mini seminar to see what it is like. I found it very impressive and interesting. Yeah, very impressed :)
• Good location: Northampton University Park Campus, I think, is in a good location quite close to the town and have all the necessities like a huge ASDA, Boots, Waitrose, and so on.
• Great facilities on campus: If you don't like the idea of going into town every week to get your groceries there isn't a huge need as there is a shop on campus with all the necessary things. There is also several launderettes that are very cheap. The library is huge with plenty of 'silent areas' for quiet study and LOADS of books for all the subjects.
• Free bus pass: To get from Park Campus and Avenue Campus there are frequent buses between the two and in between is that huge ASDA I was talking about, why not pop in?

Negative

• Unclear grade requirements: Again, this is, I think, is quite personal to my course but my requirements is 280-320 points. I personally don't like this as I am worried that if I put my target as 280 points (then when I, hopefully, surpass that I will look like a bloody genius) and someone puts their's as 320 points I would imagine that they would be the ones offered the place, even if I am hoping for 320 points or higher anyway.
• Not guaranteed accommodation: Like most universities if you do not put Northampton as your firm choice you are very unlikely to get the accommodation you want or even accommodation at all! This worries be a lot because you are never guaranteed the accommodation you want even if it is your firm choice and I am always worried that I might land with accommodation that I can't afford. However, this is the case for many universities so I wouldn't let that be a huge negative if I were you, it will most likely be the case at all the universities you look at.

As you can see there are, in my opinion, many more positives then there are negatives and overall I could definitely see myself going there; it is definitely a contender in my eyes!

I hope some of you have found this helpful as I know some of you are looking at universities as well, if you would like to know more about the university you can visit their website here and I hope you like it just as much as I did!

Always make sure you go to Open Days as it is a really good way to see what the university is like and it is always good to see the facilities and professors irl.

Rimmel Wake Me Up Concealer Vs Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer

Hi everyone, recently I went in to get my local drug store (in this case Superdrug) because I had run out of concealer and my usual, the Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer, was out of stock. Seriously, they always have shades 3 and 4 but NEVER 1 and 2. Grrrr

Anyway.. I decided to try the Rimmel Wake Me Up Concealer because I had heard really good things about it and I have to say; I was really disappointed.

So in this blog post I am going to be going through the differences between the two and why I prefer the Collection over the Rimmel.

1. Coverage - ok so the first point is that the Collection gives really good coverage with spots and dark circles under the eyes (I find dabbing it, especially on spots, causes it to cover even more and stay on for longer) however the Rimmel, I found did not cover my spots at all, I put it on my spots or under my eyes and when I dabbed/rubbed it into my skin with a finger or brush it did not cover at all and it was like I had put none on.
2. Lasting - the Collection stayed to it's name and lasts for absolutely ages! I find that during the day I did not need to touch up on my concealer at all just powder (I use the Rimmel Stay Matte Powder in Translucent) where as the Rimmel did not last at all and I had to touch up at least twice during the day. Also, the Rimmel took longer to put on as I had to put more on which means that it is more expensive and lasts less time as you have to use more.
3. Colour - I found that the Rimmel made me go slightly orange, not oompa-loompa orange but still not a natural colour. However the Collection fits my skin shade perfectly and I have very pale skin and I found that the Rimmel did not provide shades for lighter skin.
4. Blending - the Collection blended in perfectly and it was not visible to the naked eye and noone noticed I was wearing make up at all. However the Rimmel I found left a mark over where my spot was of a darker shade compared to the rest of my skin which, rather than covered my spots, made them more obvious.
5. Price - the Collection concealer is a pound cheaper and lasts longer so..

NB: These are my personal opinions and there are many who I'm sure would disagree as the Rimmel Wake Me Up is so popular there must be at least one person who loves it :)

The shades I own:

Rimmel Wake Me up: True Ivory - slightly too dark for my skin even in the summer but it was the lightest one they offered in my local superdrug.

Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer: 1 - The lightest shade and the one I wear from october to about June/July as my skin is very pale in the winter and I don't tend to go out much in the summer.

                                                                  2 - In the summer months my skin tends to go slightly darker and I find that number 2 suits my skin tone perfectly when it is slightly sunnier.

YouTube videos that make me laugh 2

Hi everyone, so back in January I made a blog post called Youtube Videos that make me Laugh 1 and lots of you enjoyed it so I thought I would do another one for you today :)

Btw there are a lot of them and could've been more!

 this is so funny, it is a collaboration between Krave and Phan and i have watched it so many times

they get so tipsy that it is hilarious, love the other video they did on Hannah's channel as well

sometimes I actually wonder how they are still friends after all the awkward moments they have had together ;)

 4.50 is when the funny stuff starts; Hannah and Troye's reaction to the birth and the convo before hand is my life. Also go watch the video they where watching, that is hilarious also :)
